Government of Venezuela and Israel's Aeronautics unveil new projects with CENTURION engines
In calendar week four, Diamond Airborne Sensing (a sister company of the Diamond Aircraft) announced an order of six DA42 Multi Purpose Platform aircraft from the Government of Venezuela.

The aircraft equipped with Polytech Cobalt 350 turret-cams shall be deployed for different law enforcement missions.

In addition to the special high-tech equipment the aircraft offer the proven advantages of the standard Twin Star. Thanks to the two CENTURION engines from Thielert, each Twin Star is equipped with, the aircraft excel in lower operating costs, longer endurance, higher comfort as well as reduced noise operation. This means significant advantages in contrast to conventional aircraft and helicopters models, which are normally used for these purposes.

According to Diamond's announcement there is already a long list of potential customers which are interested in using these aircraft. Thanks to the positive characteristics compared with conventional aircraft Diamond, Thielert’s long-term customer, expects an increasing demand.

Furthermore, Israel's Aeronautics unveiled at the end of January its "strategic" unmanned air vehicle, Dominator 2, based on the DA42 Twin Star. The UAV has a wingspan of 13.5 m (44.3 ft) and a payload of 2.000 kg.
